For years we’ve asked visitors to the Ticonderoga Area to Think Local during their stay, and explore our many unique retailers and restaurants. While this is still true, guests can add “Drink Local” to their “to-do” lists while in the Area. With the addition of War Cannon Spirits in Crown Point, and Ledge Hill Brewing Co. to Downtown Ticonderoga, visitors and locals alike have more opportunities to gather, drink, and be merry!
War Cannon Spirits
War Cannon Spirits is located at 2849 Route 9N, Crown Point, NY, in what locals refer to as “the old Agway building”. This building has undergone an extensive refurbishing to bring a beautiful tasting room, event space, and retail shop to the public.
The cocktail menu at War Cannon Spirits can only be described as eclectic. With a nice mix of drinks, including their very own Cannon Ball Old Fashion, as well as other liquors like the Blueberry Smash featuring Empress Gin, there truly is a cocktail to fit everyone’s taste. If cocktails aren't your thing, they also have a great selection of beer and cider.
If you’re looking for a bite to eat to go with your drinks, look no further! Whether you just want a snack, like spiced nuts or smoked wings, or something a little more filling, like smoked mac 'n' cheese with brisket or a flat bread pizza, you're sure to find something to your liking. They also have a wonderful selection of coffees, lattes, cappuccinos, and more that will pair wonderfully with dessert!

I found the best pairing at War Cannon Spirits to be their staff’s knowledge along with their friendliness. From start to finish every team member I encountered was incredibly warm and helpful, and the environment was fun and relaxing. Overall, far different from the farm and feed experience one would have had at “the old Agway” of yesteryear!
Ledge Hill Brewing Co.
Earlier this year, popular brewery Ledge Hill Brewing Co. made the move from Westport, NY to 92 Montcalm Street, Ticonderoga, NY. This move fulfilled a niche that Ticonderoga had been wanting…a small-town brewery to call its very own!
Upon walking into Ledge Hill Brewing Co. you instantly feel welcomed. The atmosphere is casual. Music drifts over the air, and you can hear conversation and laughter of other customers filter through as well. Artwork adorns the walls, and large glass windows give you a view of Downtown Ticonderoga. You’re warmly greeted, and your drink order is quickly taken.
Ledge Hill serves a nice selection of locally crafted beers, including a Pilsner, IPA, Lager, and Porter. If you happen to bring in someone who doesn’t appreciate a good beer, they also serve cocktails, wines, and ciders.
Drinking can really work up an appetite. Ledge Hill is ready to help with a nice selection of small plates to keep you satisfied. From soft pretzel sticks and chips and cheese, to soups and charcuterie boards, there are enough choices to please groups of any size.
If you just can’t get enough of Ledge Hill Brewing Co., you can take a 32 ounce “Crowler” and any food item to go! Don’t forget to purchase some Ledge Hill apparel to show your brewery pride! After your experience, it will surely be your new favorite brewery to visit.
