The Lake Champlain Region offers a variety of educational opportunities for people of all ages and varying pursuits. Ticonderoga is home to a North Country Community College campus, which is part of the State University of New York system. The many towns throughout the region also have public libraries, historical societies and arts and cultural organizations that host lectures and other educational offerings.
For kids and adventure seekers, the region offers a selection of summer camps, including Pok-O-MacCready outdoor education center. The camp features more than 35 activities each summer including hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, sailing, windsurfing, swimming and creative arts.
For musicians, the acclaimed Meadowmount School of Music in Westport offers talented young violinists, violists, cellists and pianists training for professional careers in music. The seven week summer progam accepts accomplished students ranging in age from 8 to 30, from all parts of the United States, for rigorous practice and coaching on their instruments.
