Second Saturday Volunteer Project at the *new* Leichter Trai
Volunteer: Help Build the Leichter Trail
Join Champlain Area Trails in developing the new Leichter Trail in Wadhams, New York. This trail is in honor of former state Senator Franz Leichter. We will walk around a mile clearing the trail for the first day of trail work on this project. There is a variety of trail work for this project, including lopping tall plants, cutting back branches and marking the new trail as we go. Last month, we started the work on this trail, and this month, we are looking forward to seeing the trail come together more.
- WHAT TO BRING: We will work with loppers, hand saws, and string trimmers, which Champlain Area Trails can provide. Feel free to bring your tools as well. Make sure to bring gloves, protective eye gear (if using a string trimmer), water, and some snacks!
- DIRECTIONS: Park by Dogwood Bread Company in Wadhams. We will meet at 8:30 am to get some nourishment in the form of hot beverages and food before hitting the trail together. Click here for Google Maps directions.
- REGISTRATION: Please register by 6:00 p.m. the day before the event by emailing tony@champlainareatrails.com, but it's also okay to meet us there on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
