The Lake Champlain Region is full of fishing adventures for everyone. Shoreline fishing is perfect for casual or newer anglers looking to spend a little time near the water and for families searching for some quality time outside. Worry less about bathrooms, access, leaving early, and young ones near the deep water. Get out there and enjoy these open spaces with some active relaxation by the lakeside.
Ticonderoga
The "land between two waters" provides an access point on both Lake Champlain and Lake George. Located next to the Fort Ti Ferry is the Ticonderoga-Lake Champlain boat launch providing a gorgeous view of Vermont in addition to fishing access. This site offers plenty of parking, public restrooms, and loads of space for fishing.
On Black Point Road in Ticonderoga is the Mossy Point boat launch, providing a large area of fishing access to Lake George the "Queen of American Lakes." There are also public restrooms — great for .
Down at Bicentennial Park is the iconic La Chute Waterfall. Just across from the falls is a gentle slope to the water where you can cast a line and fish the river from a platform. At this park you can also see the historic covered bridge, take advantage of the dock to launch a canoe or kayak, and have a picnic! Be sure to stroll down the La Chute Trail to catch views of more falls upstream and if you are traveling with kids, there is a lovely playground.
Crown Point
Right off of 9N in Crown Point is the Putnam Creek Fishing Access Area. After a short walk through some quintessential Adirondack greenery, you'll arrive at the creek for some peaceful fishing.
Just before the Lake Champlain Bridge are the stunning ruins of Fort Crown Point. Mix some history with your fishing!
Fish off the pier at the Champlain Memorial Lighthouse located at the Crown Point Campground across the street from the Crown Point State Historic Site.
Port Henry
At the Port Henry Public Beach is a pier prime for fishing. This is an ideal place to catch your dinner and go for a dip at the beach. For the kids or kid at heart, there is a playground here too.
Five minutes down the road from the Port Henry Beach is Bulwagga Bay. Park your car and mosey down to the water to try your luck here! Bulwagga Bay offers a beach, playground, and picnic area with charcoal grills provided.
