Some other suggestions you may want to add to your travel itinerary
- Hiking can be a great way to experience the area. While spring does bring some mud it also brings fresh grass, flowers, and the sounds, sights, and smells of the beautiful Adirondack Mountains. Champlain Area Trails (CATS) as well as Lake George Land Conservancy maintain trails throughout the region in addition to the NYS trails that can be accessed. CATS will also be hosting a number of guided hikes.
- Experience some of the local food! The area offers an array of fantastic dining options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Do not forget about Michigans (ask us if you do not know what one is — you will want to try this during your visit), Soft serve ice cream, and many other local favorites you can get from some of the seasonal and year round eateries.
- You will also want to plan to do a little spring shopping during your stay. Be sure to visit the The Candy Corner, The Country Florist & Gifts, Sugar & Spice Country Shoppe, Ticonderoga Paint & Decorating, Tromblees Greenhouse & Gifts, Gunnisons Orchard, Bakery, & Gifts, Ticonderoga Hidden Treasures and Brookwood Country Store. The area also has an array of crafters, artisians, and small businesses who offer unqiue and personal gifts.
