An Icy Adirondack Coast Tradition

No matter the season, Lake Champlain is a fisherman's paradise. This big lake is perfect for catching salmon and lake trout near Port Henry or the Champlain Bridge, while perch and bluegills are abundant in places like Bulwagga Bay.

No matter what you're looking to reel in, when the weather gets cold, the fishing gets hot.

Ice is nice!

With the right conditions, our lakes and ponds become awesome fishing spots. Local bait and tackle shops can provide the most up-to-date information on lake and pond ice fishing conditions and what seems to be biting and where. They also can supply you with the best bait for your target catch, and all the right gear.  With the right conditions our local fishing guides, will also offer shelters from the weather, ice fishing shanties, that often tend to spring up like little villages on the frozen lake and pond surfaces.

Pick your bait, plan your trip

When the weather heats up, so do the fishing options. Check out our warm weather fishing information for more details!

Leave No Trace and Love Your ADK

The magic of the Adirondacks is the result of previous generations taking a long view and protecting the mountains, lakes, and rivers within the Blue Line. That tradition continues today as we support and encourage everyone to practice Leave No Trace ethics, which help protect the lands and waters of the Adirondacks.
