Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH)
Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH) is the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the rich architectural history of New York State's Adirondack region. Since its founding in 1990, AARCH has worked to foster a deeper appreciation and stewardship of the area's unique and diverse architectural legacy.
This heritage includes not only the renowned “Great Camps” and rustic structures for which the region is famous but also the homes, farmsteads, churches, town halls, libraries, and commercial buildings that shape Adirondack communities. AARCH also protects significant transportation structures like bridges, railroad stations, and lighthouses, as well as industrial sites tied to the Adirondacks' iron, wood, quarrying, and tanning industries.
With over 800 engaged members—including residents, businesses, local governments, and organizations—AARCH continues to safeguard the architecture, history, and quality of life in the region that so many love and call home.
