A public path along the historic river flowing through the heart of Ticonderoga
The LaChute River Walk celebrates the rich industrial history along the river's course through Ticonderoga. Starting at the Ticonderoga Heritage Museum, the 3-mile trail loops through Bicentennial Park, passing historic sites like pulp mill grindstones, the restored Frazier Bridge, and scenic dams. Along the way, interpretive exhibits tell the story of the river's past, with a handicapped fishing platform and a boat launch at the trail's end. Supported by North Country Rural Development of Ticonderoga, this trail transforms a once-industrial waterfront into a community asset, blending history with natural beauty.
